Beyond Meat Launches Feed A Million+ Campaign
A powerhouse in the plant-based meat alternative market, Beyond Meat is using its success to make sure those in need have enough to eat during tough economic times. The brand has launched its Feed A Million+ campaign to donate more than 1 million Beyond Burgers to individuals in need over the next 30 days.
VegNews reported the brand’s social media announcement about the initiative:
“We are dedicated to making sure those who need it most right now have access to a good, nourishing meal at no cost. Our community of employees, ambassadors, and friends are coming together to help us donate and distribute over one million Beyond Burgers to food banks, frontline workers, and organizations in need. Our goal has always been to use food as a vehicle for change, and we’re fortunate to be in a position to put that into action now like never before.”
Vegan Entertainers, Athletes, Support Hospital Workers
Prominent vegan entertainers and athletes have been reaching out to support the health workers who are fighting the coronavirus on the frontlines.
According to One Green Planet, rapper Cardi B has partnered with vegan protein brand OWYN to donate 20,000 meal replacement shakes to NYC hospital staff and ambulance crews.
In the earlier story about the Feed A Million+ Campaign, VegNews reported that NBA star Kyrie Irving, a Beyond Meat ambassador, donated 200,000 vegan burgers to Food Bank for New York City, while comedian Kevin Hart announced that he partnered with the vegan brand to send Beyond Burgers to hospital workers at Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Southern California.
